Han pasado ya más de 1 década desde el lanzamiento de su hermano menor: Gta V: el éxito de los videojuegos en persona. Sin embargo este nuevo título lleva muchos años en desarrollo y no pasa desapercibido nunca en una charla entre gamers de buena madera.
Rockstar Games no ha anunciado una fecha de lanzamiento oficialmente pero se espera que lo haga durante el transcurso del año 2024. La empresa ha estado luchando contra algunas filtraciones que han aparecido a lo largo de los últimos meses desestimando toda información extra-oficial que pueda haberse sabido.
Por parte de estas fuentes o «filtradores» se sabe que el juego estará ambientado en Vice City, una ciudad ficticia basada en Miami, Floorida. Aunque la ubicación se ampliará para incluir otras áreas como una ciudad sudamericana y una isla.
El juego en sí contará con varios personajes jugables incluida una protagonista femenina por primera vez en la serie. No hay información oficial sobre la mecánica de juego todavía, pero los rumores sugieren que será más inmersivo y realista que todos los juegos anteriores de la saga.
Otro de los fuertes rumores actuales suena revolucionario: sugieren que GTA 6 incluirá una característica de «viaje en el tiempo». Esto se debe a que en un postulado oficial, Rockstar publicó una oferta laboral en la que busca un artista de ensamblaje de personajes. Una de las condiciones es tener una «apreciación y comprensión enfocadas en la moda y el estilo callejero, la cultura y la demografía de la época en lo que respecta al vestuario y la apariencia».
La comunidad de Grand Theft Auto especula que el cambio de época se debería a la campaña de GTA Online. Algunas otras especulaciones sugieren que veremos un tráiler del juego recién en noviembre de 2023.
Si bien no tenemos certezas ni declaraciones oficiales, se espera que este juego revolucione el segmento del mundo abierto. ¿Hasta cuándo seremos capaces de esperar y aguantar la manija? Sólo Rockstar Games lo sabe.
