El Mu Online es un juego de rol multijugador masivo en línea desarrollado y publicado por la compañía coreana Webzen en 2001.
Está ambientado en un mundo medieval con elementos de fantasía. Los jugadores pueden elegir entre varias clases de personajes como guerreros, magos y arqueros.
El objetivo principal del juego es subir de nivel y obtener equipo poderoso para enfrentar desafiantes misiones, monstruos, bosses. Otro aspecto fundamental será ir mejorando poco a poco para batirse a duelo contra otros jugadores.

¿CUAL ES EL ORIGEN DE MU ONLINE?
No se conoce la historia oficialmente pero se dice que el videojuego está inspirado en el libro «The lost continent of Mu» – James Churchward 1969.
Cabe mencionar que esta historia también forma parte de la mitología de otras cultura. Se lo conoce con otro nombre como por ejemplo el continente perdido de Atlantis.
Mu Online también ha sido lanzado en varios países alrededor del mundo, incluyendo Corea del Sur, China, Taiwán, Japón, Europa y América Latina.
Cada versión del juego está operada por diferentes compañías, pero todas comparten el mismo contenido y características básicas.
A pesar de su lanzamiento hace ya varios años, Mu Online sigue siendo un juego popular entre una gran cantidad de jugadores en todo el mundo.

HISTORIA Y MITOLOGÍA DE MU
En un tiempo del milenio la tierra de Mu, ha desarrollado el imperio en grandes pasos ilimitados.
Sin embargo, como predijo el gran profeta Secromicón el continente de Mu entró en caos demoledor.
Grandes líderes que habían controlado el continente de mu han caído junto con el gobierno central.
Debido a la disputa interior y la guerra entre el poder de los señores hambrientos se ha dividido el reino y así el milenio de paz queda ahora en la memoria.
Manchas de oscuridad y sangre ahora tapan la tierra. Las ruinas de la guerra han hecho una tierra desierta y el derramamiento de sangre todavía continúa.
Ahora los señores con máquinas de guerra inútilmente intentan restablecer la paz, tal como lo fue una vez.
Pero todo este tiempo, permitiendo tanta sangre interminable hizo posible que se abrieran las puertas del infierno.
Antonias es un señor necio y está cegado de ambición, fue engañado por la hechicera mala Lemuria e ignorantemente permitió que anduviera suelta en el mundo.
Kundun, el diablo de la oscuridad, un demonio confinado por el seal de Etramu ha vaticinado: «ahora está tierra será nuevamente mía; yo he desterrado paz durante todo este tiempo; el sol ya no brillará y los hombres libres serán mis esclavos y ganado». El diablo antiguo, Kundun despierta ahora de su letargo.
Entre el caos, las estrellas han perdido su curso y el hedor de miedo y sangre satura a lo largo de la tierra.
Kundun se libró de la venganza para determinar su largo encierro.
Rápidamente ahora la tierra desamparada de Mu se ha vuelto casa favorita de los súbditos de Kundun y durante dos años se ha apoderado el mal de infringir el reino de los que eran una vez puros.
“El día de la pesadilla” (un pasaje de la antigua profecía) se había hecho realidad y había sido más largo de lo que se hubiera previsto los días pasados.
Los hombres sabios empezaron sus estudios nuevamente y anhelándolo se refirieron a los rayos de luz mencionados dentro de las escrituras de la profecía, que en último lugar pondría la esperanza en el poder del seal de Etramu, el mismo seal que mantuvo el encarcelamiento de Kundun.
En ocho pedazos este seal se ha expandido y sólo cuando se forme de nuevo regresará la paz a la tierra.
CREACIÓN Y GUERRA
CREACIÓN DEL IMPERIO, CREACIÓN DE LOS REINOS Y LA GUERRA CONTRA SEUNEUM
Los historiadores hablan de la reunificación del imperio de MU. Cada uno por causalidad se hará tres preguntas:
1.- ¿De dónde viene el sello de Etramu que está en el cuerpo de Seuneum?
2.- ¿Por qué debería estar sellado en su cuerpo?
3.- ¿Cuál es el sentido final?
Incluso esta batalla con Secneum, son resultado de la profecía escrita años antes sobre el continente Mu.
La historia del continente y las profecías del imperio de Mu salen de un gran libro.
Es la única interpretación de todo este contexto histórico de pruebas, pero hasta ahora ningún estudioso puede dar una respuesta definida de qué pasará con el Continente.
El tiempo pasó y sin embargo, la gran profecía de este libro no se borra de la memoria de la gente.
Han pasado miles de años y el príncipe ambicioso Antonia y la maga oscura Lemuria abrieron el sello de Etramu despertando a Secneum.
En este proceso Antonia con su hija empezaron una brutal matanza mientras el sello fue destruido y sus ocho pedazos fueron dispersados a través del continente.
Sin embargo, aparte de Lemuria, nadie más sabe el paradero de las piedras del sello.
A causa del renacimiento de Secneum el continente Mu se sumió en un caos. Los humanos sienten temor y una ansiedad indescriptible y sólo pueden pensar con mucha ilusión en la aparición del salvador.
Deben contar en la resistencia del Dark Knight, Dark Wizard y la Fairy Elf contra las fuerzas de Secneum.
Durante el caos en estos dos años hay un historiador joven desconocido llamado Icarus. El continúa estudiando la profecía del libro Secromecon.
Al igual que la mayoría de los estudiosos, también predijo que el libro mencionaba el día de la gran pesadilla que sería interpretado como la resurrección de Secneum y, particularmente señala que ocho estrellas brillan en el firmamento.
El cree que se deben encontrar las 8 piedras, los estudiosos asumen que las estrellas predicen el significado del sello etramu y al mencionarlas como las se describe en la profecía habrá una luz para salvar al mundo. Quizá aquel destello sellará otra vez al Secneum.
La idea de Icarus inmediatamente ganó el apoyo de muchos estudiosos.
Reunidas conjuntamente las minorías étnicas decidieron trabajar todos juntos para encontrar las 8 piedras perdidas ya que en el nuevo milenio se afronta un punto decisivo.
En Mu, los tres países étnicos están casi relacionados en sus años de creación.
En el calendario de Lugard en el año 1 se formó un pueblo de elfas con el nombre de Noria.
Diez años después el Dark Wizard también estableció su ciudad-estado llamada Arka.
Entonces dos años más tarde en el calendario de Lugard, en el año 12 los Dark Knight constituyeron el país de Lorencia.
Dark Wizard y el Dark Knight además de ser muy diferentes en el uso de la armadura y armas tienen costumbres y pensamientos diferentes. No tienen casi nada en común. Por suerte, ambos son seres humanos con gran corazón.
Las elfas de Noria son pacifistas, no les gusta la guerra. Sin embargo debido a que fuerzas externas acechaban sus tierras se ven obligadas a participar en una coalición para poder defenderse.
En el tiempo inicial del calendario de Lugard se formaron estos países.
Hubo un reconocimiento de su existencia pero no para interferir unos con otros, por lo tanto se han desarrollado a través de cientos de años.
Estos países respectivamente en el calendario de Lugard en los años 720, 835 y 839 Lunedill, Kundun, y Mulen heredarán el trono de su reino, y entrarán en una edad de oro.
La reina Lunedil se hizo de Noria, fue el primer país con el que estableció relaciones diplomáticas y abogaba por el reino de las elfas.
Las relaciones establecidas por Lunedil ya han traído cambios enormes. Cientos de años trabajando activamente con otras razas para ampliar las relaciones amistosas.
Lunedil, Kundun, y Mulen organizaron un ejército conjunto contra las fuerzas del mal.
Kundun es recomendado por un gran mago llamado Etramu como el comandante total de las fuerzas aliadas mientras dos años más tarde, el segundo fuerte de Lorencia: Gaion, es designado como comandante en jefe.
Desde la creación de un ejército conjunto el continente Mu, tanto interno como externo, puede ser vigilado para mantener la paz.
Hay un reconocimiento mutuo original entre los tres países desde su existencia.
El establecimiento de las fuerzas conjuntas eliminan todas las preocupaciones y posibles pensamientos de guerra.
Aunque más adelante las fuerzas del mal intentan sembrar el caos en Noria. Las elfas, aunque ahora no pacifistas pero tampoco a favor de la guerra, tienen un problema.
Así que con la participación activa de las fuerzas conjuntas resuelven participar y se lanzan en una batalla.
Etramu, el comandante general y Gaion como comandante en jefe forman un ejército de ocho batallones en el centro, mientras otros ejércitos han sido formados por pobladores de Arka.
La legión está posicionada en la primera línea de combate y está formada por el Dark Wizard, Dark Knight y Fairy Elf.
El uso de subvenciones y magia del Dark Wizard, las auras de Elfa, así como la fuerza de ataque del Dark Knight dan a este batallón un gran poder.
Las ventajas y desventajas se complementaron entre sí para crear un ejército conjunto. Los monstruos ya no pueden ser sus rivales.
Desde el nacimiento de los tres países han tratado de crear zozobra dentro del continente pero ahora sucumben ante las fuerzas conjuntas.
Los grupos militares comenzaron a crecer y finalmente se tomó la hegemonía del continente que dominó el mundo subterráneo de Kanturu, que también firmó el acuerdo de la alianza militar.
La hegemonía conjunta del continente Mu, tras décadas de la fundación del primer reino, se encuentra en todo su apogeo.
Los interpaises cambian en una variedad de áreas de modo académico y se acelera el crecimiento económico mientras las organizaciones nacionales también han producido cambios.
Arka, al principio diseñada para decidir un nuevo líder cada ocho años, ha cambiado la ley a pedido del gobierno central.
Mulen, nacido en Lorencia de una antigua familia real, ha decidido cambiar el sistema de elegidos con la ayuda de la sangre noble a pesar de la oposición de los alrededores y con ayuda de la nobleza, inicialmente elegidos de la misma forma, mediante el sistema de línea de sangre.
Los líderes de la aristocracia y los plebeyos que tuvieron la oportunidad de llegar al trono han expresado su firme apoyo.
Los futuros historiadores creen que este sistema debería ser atribuido a la población civil. De igual manera, este sistema de hegemonía en el continente dará una estabilidad favorable.
En el año 855, Secneum apareció en el continente Mu. Esto causó un efecto dramático en el ambiente.
Aunque las predicciones de la gran profecía también tiene un historial breve sobre Secneum, por ahora no tiene derecho a saber sobre él. ¿Por qué aparece Secneum? ¿Qué sucederá? No se sabe.
Pero lo que parece claro es que desde que Secneum pisó la tierra firme los monstruos entraron en el continente Mu para sembrar el caos.
En sólo seis meses el continente estará en un caos total. Durante este período la visión de Etramu es renunciar a la comandancia total de las fuerzas conjuntas y abocarse al estudio del sello mágico.
Para él era imposible confiar en sus propias fuerzas para derrotar a Secneum, así que Etramu con la reina de las elfas Lunedill, estudia un método para derrotar a Secneum.
Etramu decidió dejar que el actual comandante general Kundun dirija la fuerza de los guardias mágicos de la octava división para establecer una matriz y que todas las fuerzas se concentren en la defensa. Pero se las arregla de todos modos para encontrar el sello mágico de Etramu.
Sin embargo, hay grandes problemas por que aquel que tenga que usar el sello tiene que tener una fuerza espiritual muy grande ya que sino su espíritu puede ser controlado por Dark Loki.
El primer voluntario fue Lunedill, a raíz de tener una gran vitalidad, creía que ella podría sellar Secneum pero Mulen dijo no.
Si las cosas salen bien, por supuesto nada que decir pero si no, cuando Dark Loki tenga el poder misterioso de las elfas será aún más peligroso.
Mulen quiere sellarlo con su cuerpo, tiene la habilidad del uso de la espada y el espíritu de poder, además cree haber vivido lo suficiente para sellar pero, al final aceptan que Kundun lleve el sello mágico de Etramu mientras los líderes nacionales hacen que sus propios motivos quieran sacrificar sus reclamaciones pero, nadie puede no advertir que el espíritu del mago también corre peligro.
Se concluye que Lunedill tendrá un ascenso con capacidad de liderazgo de Mulen y que el conocido y gran hechicero Etramu pueda hacer frente a las consecuencias.
Determinando el plan, el progreso de todas las cosas se hace cada vez más rápido gracias a Etramu, el mago que planea explicar cómo protegerse.
Por supuesto también ilustra el riesgo que corre a la hora de usar el sello mágico de Etramu, por eso ahora lo más importante es buscar las piedras y crear el sello: una colección de ocho piedras mágicas de gran alcance sirven para crear el sello mágico de Etramu.
El uso del mismo absorbe el poder de Secneum mientras que éste ha perdido el poder del cuerpo, el resto corresponde al espíritu de la fuerza de Kundun: vencer a Dark Loki y vencer a Secneum.
Mulen se enoja con Gaion por no acatar sus órdenes y le quita sus funciones de comandante en jefe del ejército del imperio y ordena a sus caballeros arrestarlo.
Los historiadores dicen que la insurgencia de Gaion es simplemente el comienzo del incidente, nadie tenía en claro que era en realidad lo que Gaion deseaba.
Éste al principio se rebela por su autoestima pero, poco a poco las ambiciones de poder comienzan a brotar.
Gaion decidió derrocar a Mulen para convertirse en el nuevo monarca del imperio.
Decidió sublevarse con el ejército de la guardia imperial contra el imperio de Mu, pero las tropas de Mu fueron más fuertes y detuvieron el motín de la guardia imperial.
Muchos se rindieron y algunos fueron capturados. Finalmente Gaion huyó a una isla desierta.
Ahora sólo quiere destruir el mundo y se embarca en la tarea de formar una alianza con las fuerzas oscuras de Secneum, y así se propone buscar el sello de Etramu.
Mientras tanto, Etramu desde su renuncia ha hecho un montón de cosas, la más importante es el descubrimiento de un material especial: un papel que no puede ser quemado, como un metal para crear armas especiales para utilizarla contra las fuerzas oscuras de Secneum.
Etramu pasaba sus magias a las futuras generaciones y descubre que este libro mágico grabado en este material especial no podrá ser destruido.
Un día Gaion apareció de repente en sus ojos, en ese momento Etramu todavía no había oído la noticia del motín de Gaion.
Afortunadamente Etramu sintió una intención maligna en Gaion con antelación y así se preparó para salvar su vida pero Gaion se robó el sello mágico.
El ladrón usó el sello mágico de Etramu e intentó abrirlo, el poder de la magia del sello estuvo dividido.
Los fragmentos de piedra comenzaron a juntarse y el aliento de la oscuridad se empeñó en cubrir el mundo.
Etramu entonces inmediatamente lanzó una magia para detener la apertura del sello que redujo a cenizas a todas las personas que estaban alrededor.
Irónicamente, a pesar de tratar de escapar, Gaion murió.
Después de que Etramu hiciera un hechizo para detener el levantamiento del sello, lanza un encantamiento más poderoso para detener la apertura del sello que se encuentra escrito en las profecías de Secromicon.
Luego de esta magia hubo una explosión enorme y Etramu desapareció junto con el sello.
Calendario de Mu, año 19; el mago más grande del continente en la historia de manera inexplicable desapareció.
Etramu sacrificó su propia vida para traer mil años de paz y una futura edad de oro.
REINOS DE MU
REINO DE LORENCIA
Reino de los caballeros del continente MU, el antiguo reino de Lorencia es lugar de los Dark Knight quien porta armaduras oscuras y grandes armas.
Después de la reunificación del ejército y del Reino Unido la ciudad de Lorencia se convierte en un lugar muy especial.
Aunque después de miles de años el tamaño de Lorencia se redujo gradualmente en las ciudades y las aldeas.
REINO DE NORIA
Lugar de Nacimiento de las Elf, conocido como una ciudad forestal urbana.
Hasta ahora es un misterio el origen del poder de las Elfas.
No comparten casi nada con los seres humanos, pero al final con el fin de protegerse de las fuerzas oscuras de Secneum, forman parte del ejército conjunto.
REINO DE ARKA
Un lugar llamado el Reino Mágico.
Está situado en las llanuras del sur del continente, los arkeños usan la magia para desarrollar una civilización hermosa.
Más tarde, en la guerra contra el Secneum, el reino queda en ruinas y deja de ser habitado.
Después de la unificación del continente un grupo de ciudadanos fueron hacia Arka con el fin de hallar indicios de la magia antigua.
REINO DE KANTURU
Situado en una isla en la parte noreste del continente Mu, viven en un mundo subterráneo pero con el apoyo del reino de Arka se hizo una civilización muy avanzada con énfasis en la ciencia y la tecnología.
Sin embargo en la invasión por parte de las fuerzas de Kundun en el año 1010, el reino de Kanturu iba a sufrir mucho.
REINO DE ATLANS
Atlans era un antiguo estado del reino de Kanturu.
Luego hubo grandes planes de planificación urbana en Atlans. El urbanismo se ha realizado con éxito por los excelentes recursos marinos de la zona.
Sin embargo, después de la resurrección del Kundun, fue destruida por la invasión de la Hydra.
Con el pasar de muchos años se proclama como estado independiente y por lo consiguiente se vuelve un Reino.
PERSONAJES IMPORTANTES
ETRAMU
Gran mago del antiguo reino de Arka. Amigo de la infancia de Kundum.
Se convirtió en gran maestro de la magia gracias a su talento.
Durante la agresión de secneum fue designado comandante de las actividades de las naciones unidas para la creación del sello mágico de Etramu.
Cuando llegó la paz ayudó a Mulen para establecer un imperio unificado y renunció a sus funciones después de la reunificación.
En su laboratorio de investigaciones estudia la nueva magia.
Más tarde su amigo cercano Kundum fue dominado por el Seuneum, entonces vuelve al servicio público para usar el sello de Etramu contra su amigo.
Muere para impedir la apertura del sello que fue abierto en manos de Gaion.
Hasta ahora se recuerda que sacrificó su vida para terminar con el mal en el continente Mu.
SECNEUM
El diablo oscuro del continente Mu.
En el año 855 de repente apareció en el continente. Su intención es ser dueño absoluto del continente Mu.
Después de las batallas contras las fuerzas conjuntas del continente, Etramu usa una magia que sella el cuerpo de Seuneum dentro del cuerpo de Kundun, es así que fue derrotado.
Pero cuatro años más tarde el espíritu de Seuneum se apodera del cuerpo de Kundun, sí que de ahora en adelante se le conoce como Kundun.
Después de la batalla contra las fuerzas del continente, Kundun es sellado de nuevo.
El nuevo milenio trae consigo el renacimiento de Kundum en manos de Antonia y Lemuria.
KUNDUN MEMPHIS
Servidor del reino de Arka.
Gracias a su excepcional poder en el uso de la magia asumió a los 42 años el cargo de gran mago del reino de Arka.
Durante la agresión de Seuneum, Etramu lo nombró comandante en jefe de las fuerzas conjuntas.
Ofrece su cuerpo para sellar a Seuneum pero a pesar de tener un espíritu fuerte Seuneum come su alma y se transforma en Kundun, una reencarnación de Seuneum que causa guerras en el continente.
MULEN
Fue elegido rey del reino de Lorencia a la edad de 27 años.
Es el mejor espadachín de todo el reino.
Cuando las fuerzas oscuras de Seuneum invadieron el continente junto con Etramu, Kundun y Lunedill formaron una coalición para luchar juntos contra las fuerzas oscuras de Seuneum.
Cuando llegó la paz en el continente Mu gracias al sello de Etramu el continente fue unificado y fue proclamado primer rey del imperio.
LUNEDIL
A temprana edad se convirtió en reina del reino de Noria, donde viven las elfas.
Junto con Mulen, Etramu y Kundun luchó contra las fuerzas de Seuneum.
Rechazó ser la primera reina del imperio.
Mucho tiempo después murió pero todavía se la recuerda por haber llenado de sabiduría y esperanzas a los seres humanos.
GAION
Nacido en Lorencia, debido a su estatus social inferior fue encarcelado a la edad de 20 años por una ley que impedía a clases sociales inferiores aprender el manejo de la espada.
El rey de Lorencia, Mulen, nota en Gaion una gran habilidad en el manejo de la espada y lo nombra jefe del ejército de Lorencia en su lucha contra Seuneum.
Después de haber derrotado a Seuneum es designado comandante en jefe del ejército del imperio.
Pero entonces es cegado por la ambición y lidera una rebelión contra el rey del imperio Mulen.
Gaion es derrotado y se exilia en una isla solitaria. Jura destruir el continente.
Entonces hace una alianza con las fuerzas del mar e intenta revivir a Kundun, es ahí que muere a manos de la magia de Etramu en su intento de bloquear la apertura del sello.
REMULIA
Discípula de Kundun. Una mujer que amaba a Kundun.
En ese tiempo no era una figura muy prominente.
Después de que Kundun fue sellado por el poder del sello de Etramu, Remulia utilizó un hechizo para dormir un milenio.
Al ser despertada por el príncipe Antonia cae en su ambición por dominar el continente Mu y despierta a Kundun para intentar llevar a cabo sus macabros planes
ANTONIAS
El príncipe descendiente de la doceava generación de Gaion Kalein.
Sus ambiciones políticas son conquistar el continente Mu y convertirse en el rey supremo del imperio.
Nublado por los concejos de Remulia decide abrir el sello de Etramu y así revivir a Kundun.
Al desbloquear el sello pierde a su hija amada y su propia vida.
ICARUS
Descendiente de la nobleza.
Un gran historiador con conocimientos profundos en astronomía, química y lingüística.
Icarus descubre por accidente unos libros donde se encuentra la profecía de Secromecon la cual estudia y resuelve que se tienen que encontrar 8 piedras para crear un sello mágico para hacer frente a Kundun y llevarlo de nuevo a la oscuridad.
Convencido de la existencia del cielo, después de seis años de estudio ha encontrado pistas de que en el piso ocho de la torre perdida se encuentra la entrada hacia el cielo.
Forma una expedición que va en busca de la entrada. Llegando al piso 8 de la torre perdida despierta a Balrog el cual mediante un ataque rápido acaba con la vida de este gran historiador.
La expedición siguió su curso y encontraron la entrada al cielo. De ahí en adelante este nuevo mundo se llamó Icarus, en memoria de este gran historiador.
HYDRA
Tras la resurrección de Kundun, el cual tiene sed de venganza contra el continente , planea ataques masivos por todo el continente.
Éste designa a Hydra como comandante para atacar el reino de Atlans donde actualmente habita.
SELUPAN
Nacido en Raklion, cobra protagonismo después de la liberación de Kundun a manos de Remulia.
Él junto a otros, buscan el libro de Secromicon para evitar que los guerreros del continente puedan saber cómo destruir al Kundun.
Sorpresivamente halla el libro pero cegado por su codicia oculta este hecho y empieza a utilizar el libro de Secromicon en beneficio propio lo que le otorga un gran poder.
SECROMICON
No es un personaje como tal pero cabe mencionar que es el único libro que registra la historia antigua.
Dentro de sus hojas se encuentra la profecía sobre el continente.
Lo más notable es que habla sobre el seuneum y la forma de cómo enfrentarlo.
HECHOS HISTÓRICOS DEL CONTINENTE
Mu es el nombre de un continente o isla mitológica que, según las creencias habría existido y desaparecido en el océano pacífico relacionado a menudo o confundido con la Atlántida o Lemuria.
La leyenda del continente perdido de Mu cuenta que la primera consciencia del universo une a la sociedad llamada Lemuria una sociedad etérea más que material en la cual la comunicación se realizaba vía telepática.
Según los partidarios de la existencia de MU las referencias supuestamente encontradas sobre una tierra más allá del gran mar oriental el océano pacifico , patria de una gran civilización solar, cuna de la antigua cultura del valle se convirtió en un importante descubrimiento.

Los defensores de esta teoría también afirman que más al sur del continente americano las leyendas sobre la desaparecida tierra ancestral se realzan en la mitología del pueblo indígena mapuche del sur de chile y la Patagonia argentina quienes incluso asegurarían ser descendientes de una raza venida por la tierra tragada por las aguas la cual justamente según su historia llevaría el nombre de MU.
El hundimiento de estas tierras parece haberse producido por la inminente colisión de esta isla con la placa sudamericana que está deslizándose continuamente sobre el fondo del océano pacífico.
También existen otros autores que informan que la tierra de MU fue colonizada hace unos 250 mil años por extraterrestres quienes serían ancestros de la actual raza polinesia y que han traído el puerco, el armadillo y el perro, eran muy avanzados espiritual y tecnológicamente.
Fundaron muchas ciudades y hace unos 200 mil años se expandieron por el sureste de Asia.
Llegaron a la Atlántida hace 30 mil años y a Europa hace 17 mil. Influyeron en los griegos, a tal punto que el alfabeto griego es el mismo de MU.
