Muchos creían que ayer, 26 de octubre, sería el día en que Rockstar presentaría por fin GTA 6. Al final nos hemos quedado sin novedades al respecto, ¿qué ha pasado?
Que Grand Theft Auto 6 es, probablemente, el juego más esperado de la historia, no debería ser sorpresa para nadie que haya estado siguiendo los movimientos de esta industria en los últimos tiempos. Desde las controvertidas filtraciones ocurridas en 2022, la comunidad de jugadores no ha sabido nada de este mastodóntico proyecto de Rockstar Games y no son pocos los que opinan que ya van demasiados años de producción en las sombras.
La impaciencia y las ganas por ver esta nueva entrega de una de las sagas más exitosas del mundo son tales que, esta misma semana, se ha creado todo un gran revuelo alrededor de simples rumores… Y es que, según algunos insiders, todo parecía apuntar a que ayer mismo, 26 de octubre de 2023, iba a ser el día escogido por Rockstar para presentar el primer tráiler oficial de GTA 6, pero al final nos hemos quedado sin nada una vez más. ¿Qué ha ocurrido? Te lo contamos.
¿Por qué la gente creía que este 26 de octubre se presentaría GTA 6?
No son pocos los indicios y sospechas, aunque de dudosa calidad, que señalaban el actual mes de octubre de 2023 como la posible ventana de presentación para GTA 6. Para empezar, el día de ayer jueves 26 de octubre había sido enmarcado en el calendario de miles de personas después de que Chris Marx, el popular insider más conocido como MarxxChris, revelase hace unas semanas que Rockstar presentaría GTA 6 ese mismo día.
Tristemente, hoy sabemos que no ha sido así. Pese a que MarxxChris ha acertado en el pasado con algunas de sus predicciones, como cuando adelantó las presentaciones de Payday 3 o Dragon’s Dogma II, esta vez ha errado el tiro. Lo peor de esta rumor que tuvo un impacto de más de 1,7 millones de visualizaciones en la red social X (Twitter), es que numerosos insiders compartieron el mismo dato en sus cuentas, por lo que poco a poco se fue generando todo un efecto de bola de nieve imparable que ha terminado subiendo exponencialmente las búsquedas de GTA 6 en la red, tal como recogió en una imagen el usuario Erik Sarissky.
Montones de otros medios y portales compartieron la misma información, naturalmente, pero al final el día de ayer, y como muchos ya esperábamos, las cuentas de redes sociales de Rockstar lo único que hicieron fue publicar un nuevo tráiler con novedades de Halloween para GTA Online, algo que ha molestado a muchos después de toda la especulación que se había estado levantando. ¿Ha hecho este movimiento a propósito la compañía?
No hay que olvidar que además de la fecha señalada por los insiders, el mes de octubre estaba en el punto de mira de muchos porque Rockstar ya había anunciado tanto Grand Theft Auto 5 como Red Dead Redemption 2 por primera vez un día de octubre. Por si esto fuera poco para las teorías de los usuarios, a principios de este mismo mes la compañía lanzó una gran cantidad de contenido de Halloween para GTA Online, lo que parecía augurar que estaban dejando espacio a finales de mes para un posible anuncio importante. Sin embargo, todo ha quedado en nada. Faltan unos pocos días para que termine octubre, pero no parece que vaya a haber ninguna novedad en lo que resta de mes.
Pronosticar la presentación de GTA 6 se nos antoja un reto imposible. En los últimos años Rockstar, una compañía muy dada al silencio cuando se trata de sus grandes proyectos, ha sido todavía más hermética e impredecible desde el hackeo sufrido en 2022.
Han pasado ya 5 años desde la salida al mercado de Red Dead Redemption 2 y muchos creen que es hora de que GTA 6 sea mostrado al mundo. No obstante, la empresa tiene un largo historial de presentaciones inesperadas, por lo que podrían salir mañana mismo con una imagen y una fecha, o lanzar dentro de un mes un tráiler sin previo aviso.
No sabemos cómo actuarán, y mucho menos en un caso como el de GTA 6 (teniendo en cuenta lo esperado que es este título). Lo único que sabemos es que GTA 4 y GTA 5 fueron juegos que tuvieron una campaña de marketing prolongada desde su presentación hasta su puesta a la venta. Si se sospecha que GTA 6 podría lanzarse en algún momento del próximo año 2024 o principios de 2025, entonces podríamos estar ya cerca de su presentación. A no ser qué Rockstar cambie de dinámica y presente el juego con una campaña de promoción intensa y de poco tiempo. Sinceramente, cualquier opción nos parece viable.
