El presidente de Rockstar, Sam Houser, hace público un comunicado a través de Twitter para agradecer a los jugadores el apoyo al estudio y anuncia cuando será el tráiler del próximo Grand Theft Auto VI.
Tal como anunciamos en la noticia de ayer, después de 10 años de espera tras el lanzamiento original de GTA V en las ya veteranísimas PS3 y Xbox 360 en el año 2013 parece que por fin el futuro de la saga Grand Theft Auto está más cerca ya que, hace unas horas, Rockstar ha anunciado que el próximo mes de diciembre publicará «el primer tráiler del próximo juego de GTA».
El anuncio llega sin el acompañamiento de ninguna imagen, arte o ilustración de GTA 6 que, por las palabras de Rockstar, siembra la duda entre los aficionados sobre cómo se llamará la nueva entrega de la saga que bien podría renunciar al número 6 y optar por otras vías, tal y como ocurrió con GTA: Vice City, entrega no numerada también ambientada en Miami, o con GTA: San Andreas.
El primer tráiler del nuevo GTA… ¿durante The Game Awards?
A pesar de que Rockstar no ha dado una fecha concreta para el tráiler del próximo GTA si ha dicho con claridad que será «a principios de diciembre», lo que ha hecho a algunos aficionados pensar que quizás el primer vídeo de GTA 6 (o como finalmente quiera llamarse) podría mostrarse durante The Game Awards 2023, la conocida gala con premios de videojuegos y multitud de anuncios que presenta Geoff Keighley y que este año tendrá lugar durante la madrugada entre el jueves 7 de diciembre y el viernes 8 de diciembre en España.
Entrando en valoraciones, podría ser que Rockstar y Geoff hayan cerrado un acuerdo para que el tráiler se mostrase en una de las galas más importantes de la industria del videojuego aunque, por otro lado, Rockstar ya ha demostrado a lo largo de su historia con sus anuncios que no le hace falta la ayuda de terceros para conseguir un gran éxito.
Los videojuegos, esenciales para la cultura
En el comunicado en el que Rockstar ha anunciado la llegada del tráiler del próximo GTA, Houser comienza dando las gracias a los jugadores que han apoyado sus juegos, «sin vosotros nada de esto sería posible y os estamos muy agradecidos a todos por compartir este viaje con nosotros».
Houser recuerda que en 1998 se creó Rockstar Games con la idea de que los videojuegos podían llegar a ser tan esenciales para la cultura como cualquier otra forma de entretenimiento y, dice, «esperamos haber creado juegos que te gusten en nuestro esfuerzo por ser parte de esa evolución».
A continuación, el comunicado informa de que «a primeros de diciembre lanzaremos el primer avance del siguiente Grand Theft Auto. Esperamos muchos años más compartiendo estas experiencias con todos vosotros».
